Fire safety for a happy holiday season
Although October is the “official” month for fire safety, the winter months are equally as important.
Never leave candles or fireplaces unattended.
If you have a live tree in your apartment for the holidays, make sure that you give it plenty of water and unplug the lights when you are away and when you retire for the night. A dry tree can quickly become a fire danger.
Additional reminders:
• Please keep your thermostats set at or above 68 degrees.
• If you are going to be gone for longer than 7 days let the office know.
• If you are going to be gone for an extended amount of time, notify the post office to have your mail held.
These few simple tips can help to make the holidays a happy time for everyone.
